Pocket Pet Veterinary Services Sacramento

Watt Avenue Pet Hospital is happy to provide care for a wide range of pocket pets and other small, non-traditional mammal pets. We offer preventive care, surgery, nutritional advice, and general care recommendations for your small pets. Each species of pocket pet has its own specific needs for housing, diet, and care.

Although small animals, or pocket pets, like hamsters, guinea pigs, and ferrets may not require much outdoor exercise, they still have the potential to get diseases.

Respiratory (breathing) problems are very common and also very dangerous since it is through their sense of smell that they can tell where their food and friends are. If you notice your furry friend experiencing any change in appetite, stool production, breathing, or behavior, such as hiding, they may actually be ill and need immediate veterinary care. If they happen to live with other roommates, there is a significant chance that they may be infected as well. Often times the sooner the diagnosis and treatment, the better the result.
